Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of FoldChart (“the App”), available on the Mac App Store. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. License

Subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Mac computers you own or control.

You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App except as permitted by law or Apple’s terms.

2. Free features and FoldChart Pro

The App is free to download and includes scanning plus selected visualization modes at no charge. FoldChart Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase that unlocks additional features.

• Billing and refunds are handled by Apple

Purchases are tied to your Apple ID. Use Restore Purchases in the App if you reinstall or switch Macs. Pricing may vary by region and is shown in the App Store at purchase time.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• choosing which folders to scan and which items to stage for cleanup;
• reviewing the cleanup queue before moving items to Trash;
• maintaining backups of important data; and
• complying with applicable laws when using the App.

FoldChart helps you inspect disk usage and queue deletions you confirm. You remain responsible for data loss caused by moving files to Trash or emptying Trash.

4. No professional advice

The App is a utility tool, not backup software, antivirus, or legal advice. Disk usage estimates and duplicate detection are provided for convenience and may not be exhaustive.

5. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR FOLDCHART PRO IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD $10 IF YOU USE ONLY THE FREE FEATURES.

8. Apple’s role

These Terms are between you and the App publisher, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, maintenance, or support. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support services for the App.

In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, paid for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.

Apple is a third-party beneficiary of Apple’s standard EULA and may enforce it against you.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
