Privacy Policy

FoldChart (“the App”) is a macOS disk space visualizer published on the Mac App Store. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used.

Summary

• We do not collect personal data.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• Scanning and analysis happen on your Mac. Folder contents are not uploaded to our servers.
• Purchases are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details.

Information the App accesses

The App only reads folders and files that you explicitly choose through the macOS Open panel or grant through security-scoped bookmarks for cleanup actions you initiate.

The App may read file metadata such as names, paths, sizes, dates, and file contents only as needed to:

• scan and visualize disk usage;
• find duplicate files within a scan you requested;
• move items you staged to the Trash; and
• save snapshots you choose to create locally.

This information is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Information stored on your device

The App may store the following locally in your Mac’s Application Support area:

• scan snapshots you save;
• security-scoped bookmarks for folders you granted access to;
• app preferences such as theme and language; and
• a local count of bytes moved to Trash during cleanup sessions you confirm.

You can remove snapshots from within the App. Uninstalling the App removes its container data subject to macOS behavior.

Information we do not collect

We do not operate analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs in the App. We do not collect:

• names, email addresses, or contact details through the App;
• precise location data;
• contacts, photos, or unrelated personal files;
• browsing history; or
• device identifiers for cross-app tracking.

In-app purchases

FoldChart Pro is a one-time non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple. Apple may collect purchase and account information according to Apple’s privacy policy. We receive only the information Apple provides to developers to validate entitlements, such as purchase status.

Network use

The App is designed to work offline for scanning and visualization. Network access may occur only for App Store purchase, restore, and entitlement validation through Apple’s StoreKit services.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data through the App, there is generally no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. If you contact us by email, we will use your message only to respond to your request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
